how do i get the google ads on my forums

im using phpbb right now

To do so, you need to edit the header template and find a suitable place for you to add the google code. Are you using an another skin but the default one?

Now that was the solution all a long. I have been battling with this and never got it working. Guess I edited the wrong places, but now i can conquer the world through my adds :respect:

I think there is a mod on the phpbb website to add banner ads. I will probably also let you use banner ads from Google :ipb48:

I know this is pulling up and old post. However, I think we need to get some more going on in the phpbb section and I wanted to clear up something about this topic.

Here we go;

If you put the google adsense in the overall_header.tpl and/or the overall_footer.tpl files, you will be in violation of google's terms of service.

They state that you can't put adsense on non-content pages like search pages, login pages, memberlist pages, etc, etc.

Therefore, you need to put your google adsense code at the top/bottom or both, of the following files:

index_body.tpl
viewforum_body.tpl
viewtopic_body.tpl

i have the same problem and i have found this topic by searching google adsense. Thanks a lot for all answers, I have read the readme of the ad mod, and i have figured out that this mod is for 'default theme'.:bye1:

all MODs are created for the "default theme" ( subSilver ) that is the requirement of phpbb.com

however, whatever edits you do to the default theme/style files, you would also do to your other style files.
