Anyone using content generators
When you have multiple domains and post the same articles you have written on those websites you get penalized. I have been told that content generators let you modify your articles so it's not read as duplicate content by search engines. Has anyone used such content generators ? How good is the altered content generated by the software ?

I haven't heard of this. I cannot see in truth how it is so hard to reword your article to post it elsewhere. Word sequences must repeat here and there for all sites, just because they are written in the same language. So you wouldn't have to change every single bit.

I don't use content bots, but I do sometimes plugin RSS feeds, which show up as new threads. I don't have 2 similar sites though so I can use different feeds, so I shouldn't have to worry about getting penalized.

That's a nice theory anyway Ace15! It seems that every time I turn around, Google is finding something they don't like about something and making it a bannable offense. I wish they would just make up their minds and settle with a set of rules.

I struggle with the whole concept.
My husband is trying to get me interested in a content generator, but I don't like the idea. I have a lot of articles and I want them to be useful to my visitors. The content generators that I've looked at just spit out similar sounding phrases and words, but that doesn't seem to help my visitors. If they can find that info everywhere else, then my site isn't set apart.
Of course the other side of the coin (and the opinion I believe my husband would take) is the articles are there for Adsense revenue and not my visitors.

Google indeed seems to need to decide how contricted its users should be and leave it at that for awhile instead of slowly tightening the controls. I have seen RSS feeds used pretty well to get content, but if you want to use your own articles it presents a problem. A big problem on the internet these days is unique content. Its just not feasible for most people, or at least not for a long time. Once new content is posted it starts popping up everywhere. If you aren't willing to rewrite your articles or use a content generator you don't realy have another choice if you are running two sites with similar content and want them on both.

I have seen them used before, but never knew how well they worked. Thanks for the thread on this, I need to learn more, see if its worth it on my sites.
