Teeth Forum - Oral Dental Care and Teeth Health Care Link Options
Old 08.06.2009 03:05
Teeth Forum is an all-around dental care forum that's dedicated to people who want better teeth and have dental problems and issues. Usually when a patient has some dental issues, he or she would go to the doctor but with teethforum.com, he's got a place online that could address his or her problem. In addition, it's also a good place for parents to share stories and ideas about how to treat their children in dental care, reviewing a doctor, protecting their child from malpractice and make their teeth healthy.

4 Simple Bad Breath Remedies
There are lots of remedies to prevent bad breath. Bad breath is caused by bacteria being present in your mouth & the worst smelling odors are those bacteria dying. Broken or cracked fillings can also cause bad breath due to the bacteria getting inside the filling. So I've come up with some great remedies to prevent bad breath from affecting you. They are:

1. Brush your teeth after every meal
2. Make sure you brush the back of your tounge while brushing
3. Use dental floss everyday
4. Increase your water consumption

Please Note: If all else fails, consult your doctor or dentist for more personal treatment.

Molar cavity
Hi all,

New to this forum.

My situation is I have a cavity in my lower right molar and it needs a root canal. Also my wisdom teeth are impacting on my molars so they are pushing my teeth out of alignment. I do not have the money for a root canal now but I am experiencing severe toothaches.

Should I just do an extraction of the problem tooth and word it kill two birds with one stone?

Recommendations please.

Ashamed and Depressed
I feel a little awkward talking about this, but less so over this method of communication as I can easily ignore any kind of flames from other users. Wether that sort of thing happens here or not I do not know, but I figured this might be a good place to come.

I have taken very poor care of my dental hygene and, as such, my teeth have gotten bad over the years...very bad. I have tried to maintain them as best I could recently, but it was too little too late and now I am just not in a good place at all. What's worse is I am also not in any kind of financial position which would offer me the ability to take care of this situation. I tried calling the local health department, but they only handle "emergency cases" and, unfortunately, my situation (though very dire) does not qualify.

I broke a crown that I had in place last night and, though my teeth haven't lloked good for a long time, they at least looked semi present. At this point, they do not after losing the crown. I guess I didn't really "lose" it, it just popped out while I was biting into something rather tough to chew. Aside from that, I have several other teeth that simply need to be extracted and will most likely need to have a full denture or some kind of implants to restore my teeth to some semblance of what it should be.

Being that I am in a bad situation financially, I am unable to afford typical dental care and cannot even afford insurance. The state insurance also does not cover me as I am not a pregnant woman nor am I a child. I do work, but so little that I can barely afford to keep a roof over my childrens' heads. I am honestly at a loss of what to do and I have been looking at other resources for free services, but this seems to be something that just doesn't exist as it used to. The almighty dollar has taken hold of everything and it is depressing that I am unable to find any kind of assistance for this kind of thing.

If I had some kind of credit, I might be able to get approved for a credit line to have the work done and TRY to pay on that, but even that I think would ultimately end up just being another bill I can't afford. I can't even afford the internet, I have to use someone else's connection just to write this out.

I guess if anyone actually reads this, perhaps someone has some ideas on what to do here. I live in Oregon and have looked into state assistance as well as the local health department. Niether of these resources apply to me. If my children needed it, that's no problem, but not for me...that would be just too much to ask I guess. http://teethforum.com/images/smilies/sad.gif
